This doudoune vest is made of a combination of recycled polyester - stuffed with up-cycled down- and piñatex, a leather-substitute made from pineapple leaves. Based on classic puffer vests - a worker’s staple prized in the Mid-West - this jacket is given a medieval twist with its high foldable collar and metallurgic stud embellishments.

Eddie Bauer is credited with “creating” the puffer in 1936 as the result of a near-fatal incident involving a waterlogged wool coat, dropping temperatures, and impeding hypothermia. Christened the Skyliner, it encased down feathers in quilted water-repellent fabric, isolating the body’s heat from damp winter weather.
