This doudoune shirt is made of of recycled polyester with a smooth feel - stuffed with up-cycled down feathers. This warm, lightweight vest has the proportions of an overshirt, with a classic collar, wide patch pockets and a square hem. Our seasonal hyeroglyph patch is stitched on the chest, contrast stitching outlining its minimal, workwear-inspired construction.
Eddie Bauer is credited with “creating” the puffer in 1936 as the result of a near-fatal incident involving a waterlogged wool coat, dropping temperatures, and impeding hypothermia. Christened the Skyliner, it encased down feathers in quilted water-repellent fabric, isolating the body’s heat from damp winter weather.
