The Essential sweatpants are made of brushed-back fleece knitted from organic cotton. This new staple has a lighter quality with a smooth front and a teddy soft interior. Their comfy, stripped-back design features an elastic waistband, ribbed hems and side-seam pockets.
The first pair of sweatpants were made in the 1920s by the founder of a sports store in France, Le Coq Sportif, by designer Emile Camuset. Camuset saw them as much-needed comfortable sportswear item for athletes of the day. The simple gray pants were named this way for their ability to absorb sweat.
