PHIPPS is the next great American heritage brand, built for a new kind of man.
Blending rugged, masculine design with a nostalgic and countercultural nod to Americana, PHIPPS has carved out its own path in modern fashion since its inception in 2018. We celebrate the timeless appeal of rugged American culture, made with true American integrity and shaped by an outsider’s perspective.
Founded by Spencer Phipps in 2018, the brand launched in Paris and quickly gained recognition in Europe. PHIPPS was named runner-up in the 2024 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and was selected as a finalist in the 2019 LVMH Prize. The studio relocated to Los Angeles in 2022, where it is currently based.
Spencer Phipps was born in San Francisco, where he developed his rugged sensibility before moving to New York to study at Parsons School of Design. He began his career at Marc Jacobs, working on the menswear team, and later became the first American designer at Dries Van Noten in Antwerp before launching his eponymous label.
PHIPPS is divided into four different divisions:
